Job summary

IEM in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Technician to join the automation integration team. You will install, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot automated systems to improve safety, quality, and productivity.

This role reports to the Senior Manufacturing Engineering Manager and supports project execution from concept through production launch. Collaborate closely with Production, Maintenance, Quality, Supply Chain, and Engineering teams while applying Lean and Six Sigma

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical certification, associate degree, or diploma in electrical, mechanical, electromechanical, automation, or manufacturing engineering technology preferred.
• 2–5 years of experience in manufacturing, assembly, industrial equipment, or manufacturing automation environment preferred.
• Experience using hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and basic diagnostic tools.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the design, development, optimization, and implementation of metal fabrication, assembly, and automated manufacturing processes and equipment.
• Support automation projects through equipment installation, testing, validation, production trials, and startup activities.
• Assist with troubleshooting and optimizing PLCs, HMIs, robotics, vision systems, electrical components, and related manufacturing equipment; support root cause analysis and corrective actions for downtime, quality, delivery, and safety issues.
• Create and maintain manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, SOPs, PFMEAs, control plans, and process-validation records.
• Collect and analyze production data to improve throughput, reduce scrap, increase OEE, and support capacity analysis.
