Job summary

Engineered Materials Solutions seeks an Automation Engineer to design, implement, and maintain automated systems enhancing production efficiency and quality. You will contribute to lean initiatives and data-driven optimization on the shop floor.

The role collaborates with Operations, Engineering, and IT to improve safety, throughput, and cost while supporting automation startups and documentation efforts.

Qualifications

• BS in engineering with focus on manufacturing or automation.
• Experience with automation, controls, or systems in manufacturing.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and process docs.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and support manufacturing automation and process-control solutions.
• Identify opportunities to automate manual, repetitive, or non-value-added processes.
• Support PLCs, HMIs, sensors, robotics, vision systems, and other automated equipment.
• Integrate equipment with ERP, MES, data collection, and other production systems.
• Troubleshoot system, equipment, and process issues and implement corrective actions.
• Develop and maintain system documentation, equipment standards, and operating procedures.
• Analyze manufacturing processes to improve safety, quality, throughput, efficiency, and cost.
• Use Lean Manufacturing, 6S, standard work, root-cause analysis, and continuous-improvement methodologies.
