Position Summary:
We are hiring a hands-on [Fanuc] Robotics & Automation Maintenance Technician to support automated manufacturing operations in an aerospace and defense production environment. This role is best suited for someone who can troubleshoot robotic systems, electrical issues, mechanical failures, PLC-controlled equipment, and automated production machinery with confidence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain robotic manufacturing systems and automated production equipment.
- Diagnose electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and control system issues to reduce downtime and improve equipment reliability.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, PLC logic, and technical manuals.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on robotic cells, weld systems, conveyors, fixtures, and related automation equipment.
- Support Fanuc robotic systems, including alarm troubleshooting, robot recovery, teach pendant operation, and basic program adjustments.
- Install, route, and troubleshoot industrial wiring, sensors, motors, servos, safety devices, and electrical components.
- Work with Manufacturing Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, and Production teams to improve uptime and process reliability.
- Assist with equipment startups, commissioning, and new product introduction support for automated manufacturing lines.
- Maintain repair records, maintenance logs, and spare parts tracking.
- Follow safety, lockout/tagout, environmental, and aerospace manufacturing procedures.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience maintaining robotic or automated manufacturing systems.
- Hands-on Fanuc robotics troubleshooting experience strongly preferred.
- Strong electrical troubleshooting skills, including motors, drives, relays, sensors, control panels, and industrial wiring.
- Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability.
- Experience with preventive maintenance and equipment reliability practices.
- Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced production environment.
Education & Certifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Technical degree, trade school, or certification in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, Robotics, Electrical Technology, or related field preferred.
- Fanuc robotics, electrical, or industrial maintenance certifications are a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods, including 10+ hour shifts.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
- Frequent bending, climbing, reaching, stooping, and hands-on work around equipment.
- Must be able to safely work around industrial machinery and automated equipment.
- Must be able to wear PPE, including safety glasses, steel-toe boots, gloves, and hearing protection.
