Job summary

Aerotek is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to join a growing manufacturing operation in Michigan City, IN. You will troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems on automated production lines, work with PLC-controlled equipment, and support high-speed machinery with significant overtime opportunities.

The role emphasizes preventive maintenance, calibration, and collaboration with operators to minimize downtime; a clean, temperature-controlled facility supports long-term growth.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience.
• Strong electrical troubleshooting abilities, including 480V.
• Experience with PLC troubleshooting and industrial control systems.
• Knowledge of VFDs, HMIs, sensors, and automation equipment.
• Mechanical troubleshooting with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Welding and fabrication experience preferred.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and technical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair automated manufacturing and packaging equipment.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to maximize uptime.
• Diagnose electrical issues involving motors, drives, controls, sensors, and circuitry up to 480V.
• Troubleshoot VFDs, PLC-controlled equipment, and HMI systems.
• Repair and maintain hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Replace and troubleshoot photo eyes, sensors, switches, and other controls components.
• Perform mechanical repairs on conveyors, gearboxes, bearings, and production machinery.
• Complete MIG and TIG welding and light fabrication projects as needed.
• Utilize computerized maintenance systems to document repairs and track maintenance activities.
• Work closely with operators and production teams to quickly resolve equipment issues.
