Job summary

Amgen is seeking an Automation Maintenance Technician in New Albany, OH to support advanced manufacturing systems. You will perform maintenance, diagnose using PLC/HMI, and collaborate across engineering, regulatory, and quality teams to ensure FDA compliance and operational efficiency.

The role includes shift work, weekend coverage as needed, and opportunities to contribute to a 24-hour operation within a new advanced plant. A strong background in automation and electronics is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical engineering field or related discipline.
• Alternative: an Associate degree plus 4 years of technical engineering experience.
• Alternative: a high school diploma/GED plus 6 years of technical engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced maintenance activities on complex plant equipment.
• Diagnose using PLC and HMI software to troubleshoot systems.
• Coordinate tech support across engineering, regulatory, calibration, quality, and validation teams.
• Assist regulatory inspections and respond to FDA and other agencies.
• Maintain spare parts inventory for equipment/systems.
• Evaluate and optimize maintenance procedures to reduce downtime.
• Review utility and process system drawings and P&IDs.
• Support non-standard shifts including weekends/holidays as needed.

Education

Bachelor's degree

Associates degree and 4 years of Technical Engineering experience

High school diploma / GED and 6 years of Technical Engineering experience
