Job summary

Oldcastle Infrastructure in Avon, CT, seeks a maintenance mechanic to support an industrial steel fabrication and manufacturing environment. You will perform preventive maintenance, repair equipment, read manuals, troubleshoot malfunctions, coordinate with vendors, and manage spare parts/tools.

Responsibilities include following safety protocols, diagnosing automation and electrical systems, installing PLCs, and documenting activities.

Qualifications

Post-secondary education in industrial maintenance or electrical/electronics, or related field.
Strong diagnostic and repair abilities across automation, electrical, mechanical and hydraulic systems.
Ability to read electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and PLC drawings.

Responsibilities

Adhere to safety protocols including lockout/tagout and arc flash to ensure a safe environment.
Perform preventive maintenance on machinery to ensure reliability.
Troubleshoot automation, electrical, mechanical and hydraulic issues.
Repair or replace defective parts using knowledge of automation, electrical, mechanical and hydraulic principles.
Install, configure and calibrate PLCs, sensors and control devices.
Inspect machinery to identify problems and take corrective action.
Collaborate with production to address maintenance issues promptly.
Document maintenance activities and keep records up to date.
Stay current with advancements in automation and electrical systems through training.
Participate in continuous improvement to enhance equipment reliability and performance.
Coordinate work plans with Shop Foremen and Management.
