Job summary

Frank Calandra Jennmar Services in Wyoming, MI is seeking a Sr. Automation Machine Builder who will assemble, integrate, and troubleshoot custom automated machinery for manufacturing environments.

The role requires a strong mechanical and electrical background and familiarity with industrial robotics. You will collaborate with engineers, controls technicians, and programmers; install wiring, sensors, EOAT, and control panels; test and fine-tune robotic cells; and occasionally support on-site

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; technical cert or associate degree preferred.
• 3+ years in machine building, automation, or industrial equipment assembly.
• Hands-on experience with industrial robotic systems (FANUC, ABB, KUKA, Yaskawa).
• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and robotic integration principles.
• Able to read blueprints, CAD drawings, and electrical/robotic schematics.
• Familiar with safety systems for robotic automation (light curtains, interlocks).
• Willing to travel occasionally for installations or on-site support.

Responsibilities

• Assemble mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and robotic components per drawings and schematics.
• Integrate and support robotic systems within automated machinery.
• Install wiring, sensors, actuators, EOAT, and control panels.
• Test, debug, and fine-tune machines and robotic cells for performance and safety.
• Collaborate with engineers, electricians, controls technicians, and programmers.
• Modify assemblies based on testing and engineering input.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and document build processes.
• Occasionally assist with installation and commissioning at customer sites.
