Job summary

Siemens Mobility is seeking engineering students for a 12-week Digital Industries Automation Internship Program – Application Engineering Track. The role offers hands-on exposure to PLCs, VFDs, CNCs, and industrial networking across multiple hubs, including Alpharetta, GA.

You’ll work full-time May 17–Aug 6, 2027, collaborating with senior engineers to design, test, and document automation solutions. Relocation may be required within 50 miles; travel up to 20% is possible.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer/Electrical/Engineering Technology or related majors.
• Available to work full-time (40 hours/week) May 17–Aug 6, 2027.
• Strong interest in industrial automation, robotics, or Industry 4.0.
• Foundational knowledge of control systems or automation concepts.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; professional, customer-facing demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with experienced application engineers on design, testing and feasibility of automation solutions.
• Learn about factory automation, motion control and simulation technologies.
• Create proof of concept specs and systems; program and debug codes.
• Build and upgrade demos for new products and features for customer engagements.
• Document customer requirements and define technical solutions.
