Job summary

Siemens Digital Industries Automation is seeking engineering students for the 12-week summer internship program - Application Engineering Track. Based at one of our DI Automation hubs (Alpharetta, GA among others), you will gain hands-on experience with PLCs, VFDs, CNCs, and industrial networking.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering or a related field.
• Available to work full-time (40 hours per week) May–Aug 2027.
• Strong interest in industrial automation, manufacturing technologies, robotics, motion control, or Industry 4.0.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with application engineers on designing, testing, and feasibility analyses of automation solutions (PLCs, VFDs, CNCs, networking, cybersecurity).
• Learn about modern manufacturing challenges and how automation improves productivity, quality, and efficiency.
• Create proof-of-concept specifications, program/debug codes, and validate performance requirements.
