Job summary

MISO invites motivated students to join its 2027 Summer Internship Program in Carmel, IN. From June 2 to August 13, 2027, interns will work on automation and IT infrastructure, guided by engineers to improve reliability and deployment efficiency.

Selected interns gain hands-on experience with Python, Ansible, Packer, and GitHub Actions, plus opportunities for professional development and networking within a mission-driven team.

Qualifications

• Pursuing CS/IT/CE at undergraduate or graduate level.
• Strong interest in automation and systems.
• Familiarity with Python and scripting.

Responsibilities

• Build and improve automation for configuring and securing computer systems for MISO's critical operations.
• Collaborate with engineers to troubleshoot issues, implement fixes, and streamline deployments.
• Use tools like Ansible, Python, GitHub Actions, and Packer to automate processes.
• Attend community events, intern socials, and development programming to grow skills and understand MISO's mission.
• Wrap up the summer with a final presentation summarizing project work and impact.
