Job summary

Guardian Glass in Corsicana, TX seeks an Instrument and Controls Technician to maintain and troubleshoot production equipment, ensuring safe, efficient operation of glass manufacturing lines. Qualifications

• Associate/Technical degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Systems, Instrumentation, or Electronic Technology.
• A minimum of two or more years of Electrical/Electronic/Controls troubleshooting experience in a manufacturing or military environment.
• Experience reading and following electrical and maintenance schematics/blueprints.
• Experience utilizing electrical test devices such as Ammeters, Voltmeters, and Ohmmeters.
• Experience in PLC systems, including understanding PLC ladder logic.
• Experience with MS Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor automated float glass production lines (glass melting, forming, annealing lehr, cutting, edging, washing, and packaging).
• Start up and shut down equipment per procedures; perform line changeovers and product grade changes.
• Monitor process parameters and adjust controls to maintain product specifications and throughput.
• Inspect glass for defects and take corrective actions; notify quality/engineering as needed.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance and basic electrical troubleshooting; coordinate complex repairs with maintenance team.
• Execute equipment reliability activities and report abnormal trends.
• Contribute to continuous improvement efforts to reduce downtime, scrap, and cycle time.
• Maintain production, maintenance, and quality records.
• Ensure compliance with safety/environmental policies; use PPE and lockout/tagout procedures.
• Train and mentor junior operators; participate in shift handovers.
