Job summary

Guardian Glass in Corsicana, TX is seeking motivated Manufacturing Operators to join our team. You will operate and troubleshoot automated float glass production lines, monitor process parameters, perform changeovers, and help maintain safety and quality across the facility.

Shifts include 12-hour rotating schedules with weekends and overtime as needed. Starting pay ranges from $20 to $30 per hour, commensurate with experience, with benefits including medical, dental, vision, and retirement

Guardian Glass is looking for motivated Manufacturing Operators with a passion for safety to join our team in Corsicana, TX! Manufacturing Operators are responsible for operating and troubleshooting equipment by supporting our production efficiency and allowing our facility to create quality glass that meets our customers’ needs.

Our Operators play a vital role in the safe and efficient manufacturing of our products.

Our Team

This role can work in any area of the facility, including float, coater, off-line cutting, tempering or warehouse departments. Rotating 12-hr shift to include weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.

Competitive pay starting at $20 - $30 per hour based on experience.

What You Will Do
  • Operate and monitor automated float glass production lines (glass melting, forming, annealing lehr, cutting, edging, washing, and packaging).
  • Start up and shut down equipment per procedures; perform line changeovers and product grade changes.
  • Monitor process parameters (temperatures, conveyor speeds, atmosphere, level controls) and adjust controls to maintain product specifications and stable throughput.
  • Inspect glass for visual/functional defects and take immediate corrective actions; segregate nonconforming product and notify quality/engineering.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance tasks and basic mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical troubleshooting; coordinate complex repairs with maintenance team.
  • Execute equipment reliability activities (daily checks, lubrication, filter changes, alignment checks) and report abnormal trends.
  • Follow and contribute to continuous improvement efforts (root cause analysis, Kaizen events, SPC, OEE improvement) to reduce downtime, scrap, and cycle time.
  • Maintain accurate production, maintenance, and quality records (shift logs, defect logs, downtime reasons, production counts).
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory policies; use PPE and follow lockout/tagout, hot work, and confined-space procedures as required.
  • Train and mentor junior operators; participate in shift handovers and cross-functional meetings.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical/vocational training in industrial maintenance, instrumentation, or process technology preferred.
What Will Put You Ahead (Preferred Qualifications)
  • 2+ years experience in automated manufacturing or heavy process industries; experience in float glass or glass manufacturing strongly preferred.
  • Certification or coursework in PLC programming, instrumentation, or industrial electrical systems.
  • Experience with continuous process control systems, advanced diagnostics, or predictive maintenance tools.
  • Familiarity with Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
  • Familiarity with PLCs, HMIs, basic electrical and pneumatic systems, PID loop control, and common industrial sensors/instruments.
  • Demonstrated ability to read process drawings, electrical schematics, and standard operating procedures.
