Job summary

Macy’s is seeking a Manager, Operations for the Automated Customer Fulfillment Center in Martinsburg, WV, to oversee day-to-day distribution activities and lead hourly staff. The role focuses on achieving facility and organizational goals through strong leadership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

This position requires building high-performing teams, analyzing metrics, managing inventory, and coordinating with IT and other departments to optimize safety, quality, and service levels.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
• Heavy lifting, constant movement, standing for long periods and ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
• Flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, holidays.

Responsibilities

• Oversee a department in a distribution facility with focus on meeting or surpassing goals and targets.
• Build high-performing teams by guiding and supporting hourly colleagues.
• Generate reports for management on key metrics.
• Ensure safety, cost control, quality, processing standards, flexibility, reliability, and execution of plans.
• Conduct presentations to senior management as needed.
• Continuously analyze work processes to identify optimization opportunities and implement improvements.
• Cultivate a culture of superior customer service and success.
• Collaborate with peers to ensure clear communication and handoffs between shifts.
• Establish and maintain procedures and metrics to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Manage all aspects of inventory control.
• Review analyses of activities, costs, operations, and forecast data.
• Create a safe work environment with Safe/Smart practices and safety programs.
• Collaborate with IT to improve operations and service levels.
• Foster an inclusive environment and strong team relationships.
• Other duties may be assigned.
