Job summary

Oshkosh Corporation, Inc. seeks a Manufacturing Engineer Associate for 2nd shift to provide hands-on engineering support for off-shift manufacturing operations. Focus areas include automated tooling, production processes, and layouts. You will collaborate with Controls Engineers to develop automation knowledge and minimize downtime.

The role includes preparing layouts, BOMs, and drawings, and may involve 3D-printed tooling. Shift hours are 4:00 pm–2:30 am EST, subject to needs.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Operations, Engineering or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Internship, co-op, or hands-on experience in manufacturing, automation, controls, or a related engineering environment.
Exposure to automated manufacturing equipment and troubleshooting.
Familiarity with PLCs, controls systems, robotics, sensors, or other industrial automation technologies.
Experience with CAD/3D modeling software and engineering layouts.
Experience with or exposure to 3D printing/additive manufacturing and tooling design.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma methodologies.
Strong mechanical and technical troubleshooting skills.
Ability to work hands-on with production, maintenance, controls, and engineering teams in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

Under close supervision, perform basic engineering calculations, investigations, and tasks per engineering standards.
Support more senior engineers in plant designs, computation methods, and reporting.
Work on projects with limited complexity in a support role.
Prepare vehicle layouts and component drawings with supporting calculations.
Select parts and/or design components for cost and quality consciousness.
Follow projects on the assembly floor or via prototype builds as instructed.
Generate bills of materials and assembly drawings as required.
Adhere to time schedules and use CAD equipment on assigned projects.
