Job summary

CTDI in West Chester, PA seeks an associate engineer to support senior engineers on major projects, applying electronics theory and telecom knowledge to solve problems and implement process flows for new product introductions.

You will install automation equipment, read drawings, propose redesigns, document progress, and train technicians, with a travel-heavy schedule and a supportive, family-like culture offering health, vision, 401(k) and more.

Job description

The associate engineer performs routine engineering work, assisting senior-level engineers on major projects. This position requires the day-to-day application of comprehensive technical knowledge to solve complex problems by interpreting manufacturer’s manuals or similar documents. Responsible for assisting engineers and technicians in implementing process flows for new product introduction and coordinate with engineers and technicians as a team to accomplish project goals. This position requires approximately 80% travel.

Responsibilities:

• Install automation equipment at CTDI branches.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and job specifications.
• Make redesign suggestions and characterize new product performance.
• Analyzes technical requirements and effort associated with automation systems and products.
• Generates various documentation, including as-builts, daily reports, and safety briefings.
• Attends status meetings to discuss priorities and progress toward meeting a given timeline.
• Train other technicians on proper repair and testing processes.

Required Skills and Experience

• A self-starter that works on tasks which are complex in nature, and uses common sense to resolve problems and make recommendations.
• Able multitask and work in a fluid environment.
• Strong knowledge of Electronics Theory and Telecommunications.
• Ability to plan work sequence for repair, and identify tools and testing instruments necessary for completion.
• Must have the ability to troubleshoot down to component level.

Educational Requirements

• AS or AA degree from an accredited institution in electronics technology or an electronics discipline and 4 years of practical experience with one (1) of the two (2) years’ experience in electronic troubleshooting.
