Job summary

On Point Staffing Group seeks an Automation Manufacturing Mechanic in Denville, NJ, to ensure optimal functioning and efficiency of production equipment. You will troubleshoot, maintain, and upgrade machinery, drive safety and quality standards, and support continuous improvement across the manufacturing line.

The role requires hands-on experience with PLCs, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work closely with a production team to minimize downtime and maximize reliability.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
• Proven expertise in troubleshooting and maintaining manufacturing equipment.
• Strong understanding of PLC systems and automation technology.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure strict adherence to health and safety protocols, GMPs, and PPE.
• Uphold food quality and safety standards per Safe Quality Food requirements.
• Lead troubleshooting during equipment malfunctions with production teams.
• Maintain, test, and upgrade production equipment; install new machinery.
• Diagnose PLC and automation issues, focusing on wiring faults.
• Calibrate and test equipment for performance and specs compliance.
• Assist in PLC system upgrades to improve efficiency and safety.
• Modify programs for system optimization and safety improvements.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities and upgrades.
• Provide training to team members on PLC functions and troubleshooting.
• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs as part of mechanical duties.
• Engage in continuous improvement and promote safe practices.
