Job summary
Hunter Douglas, Inc. seeks an experienced Controls Engineer to design and implement automated systems across North American plants.
You will collaborate with engineering, operations, and IT to define technical requirements, program PLCs and SCADA, and ensure safety, efficiency, and quality from concept through handover. The role requires hands-on automation development, FAT/SAT validation, and leadership of projects and integrator teams, with travel to customer sites and manufacturing
Qualifications
- Degree in Electrical, Mechatronics, Automation or equivalent.
- 3+ years in manufacturing controls engineering.
- Leadership and project management experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop advanced automation solutions for NA plants.
- Collaborate with operations, engineering, IT to define requirements.
- Design control systems, integrate equipment, and ensure safety and quality.
- Program PLCs, DCS, MES, and SCADA per IEC61131-3 and HDNA standards.
- Validate performance, support startup, and drive continuous improvement.
