Job summary

Sealed Air Corporation in Charlotte, NC, is seeking an Equipment Engineer to design and develop automation equipment for food packaging systems. The role collaborates with cross‑functional teams to concept, model, test, and document equipment solutions.

You will build CAD models, perform analyses, and contribute to drawings, BOMs, and manuals while iterating for reliability and hygienic design. Occasional travel is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or 5–8 years of relevant design experience.
• 3D CAD design proficiency; SolidWorks experience preferred.
• Create, interpret, and revise mechanical drawings.
• Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing principles.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.

Responsibilities

• Support conceptualization and design of industrial food packaging equipment and automation solutions.
• Create and revise 3D CAD models and 2D mechanical drawings using SolidWorks and CAD software.
• Assist with mechanical system analysis using engineering principles.
• Support design, assembly, testing, and improvement of equipment and electro‑mechanical systems.
• Participate in equipment testing, commissioning, training, and documentation.
