Job summary

Moog's Military Aircraft Group in Buffalo, NY is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Manager - Automation to lead the development and deployment of advanced manufacturing technologies for aerospace production. You will guide the Automation Engineering team and partner across manufacturing, operations, engineering, and quality.

This role offers a leadership path into Moog's AIM facility, with focus on TRL/MRL-driven projects, robotics, machine vision, and digital manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, industrial, software or related technical discipline.
• Seven or more years in manufacturing engineering, automation, robotics, or related fields.
• Experience leading technical teams, projects, or engineering initiatives.
• Experience implementing automation technologies within manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, robotics, controls, and software systems.
• Familiarity with TRL and MRL frameworks.
• Proven ability to drive results in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Build, lead, and develop a high-performing automation engineering team supporting manufacturing operations in Buffalo.
• Identify, evaluate, and implement automation technologies to improve productivity, quality, safety, and performance.
• Lead automation projects from concept through production deployment, including planning, testing, validation, and implementation.
• Develop and execute automation roadmaps aligned with business objectives and our AIM transition.
• Partner with manufacturing, operations, quality, and engineering teams to identify automation opportunities.
• Manage project priorities, resources, schedules, and external suppliers for successful execution.
• Apply TRL and MRL methodologies to support technology development and deployment.
• Research emerging manufacturing technologies including robotics, machine vision, digital manufacturing, and AI-enabled solutions.
• Drive continuous improvement focused on throughput, quality, process capability, and efficiency.
