Job summary

Moog Inc. in Buffalo, NY is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Manager – Automation to lead the development and deployment of next-generation automation technologies supporting aerospace production.

This role reports to the Director, AG Mach Automation Prog and is based onsite at our East Aurora facility as Moog transitions to the AIM facility. You will build and mentor a high-performing automation team, drive roadmaps, manage projects from concept to deployment, and partner across

Qualifications

• Seven (7) or more years of experience in manufacturing engineering, industrial automation, robotics, controls engineering, or related fields.
• Demonstrated experience leading technical teams, projects, or engineering initiatives.
• Experience implementing automation technologies within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, industrial automation systems, robotics, controls, software systems, and electromechanical technologies.
• Familiarity with Technology Readiness Level (TRL) and Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Build, lead, and develop a high-performing automation engineering team supporting manufacturing operations.
• Identify, evaluate, and implement automation technologies that improve productivity, quality, safety, and manufacturing performance.
• Lead automation projects from concept development through production deployment, including planning, testing, validation, and implementation.
• Develop and execute automation roadmaps aligned with business objectives and the AIM transition.
• Partner with manufacturing, operations, quality, and engineering teams to identify opportunities for automation and process improvement.
• Manage project priorities, resources, schedules, technical requirements, and external suppliers to ensure successful execution.
• Apply TRL and MRL methodologies to support technology development and deployment.
• Research emerging manufacturing technologies, including robotics, machine vision, digital manufacturing and AI-enabled solutions.
