Job summary
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) seeks an Automation Engineer Manager at Engineer 7 level within the Construction and Materials Automation Unit. You will lead statewide software applications, oversee development, implementation, and support serving 3,000+ users across DOTD offices, labs, and partners.

Qualifications
- Current Louisiana professional engineer license is required.
- Three years of licensed engineering experience, or seven years of professional engineering experience.
- Masters or Doctorate can substitute for experience as described; advanced degrees substitute for up to two years; license cannot be substituted.
Responsibilities
- Serves as technical advisor to DOTD leadership on statewide construction and materials automation initiatives, policies, and technical issues.
- Manages development, implementation, and deployment of construction and materials software applications.
- Oversees operation, administration, security, maintenance, and support of statewide applications serving 3,000+ users.
- Evaluates emerging technologies and recommends improvements to applications, processes, and specs.
- Develops and provides progress reports, technical guidance, policies, procedures, and training.
- Supervises and provides technical leadership to eight engineers and engineering technicians.
- Coordinates with Office of Technology Services and external partners on security, data management, and services.
- Manages contracted staff and project scopes, selection, and performance reporting.
