Job summary
Employment Group seeks an Automation Engineer for a manufacturing facility in Pueblo, CO. The role involves designing, improving, and maintaining control systems to keep steelmaking and rolling mill operations safe and reliable.
You will collaborate with maintenance, production, and engineering teams to implement automation solutions that reduce downtime, improve quality, and optimize plant performance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Automation Engineering or equivalent.
- 4-7 years in industrial or heavy manufacturing environments.
- Experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs, drives, and HMI systems.
- Ability to read electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic drawings.
- Strong problem-solving and teamwork abilities.
Responsibilities
- Support automation systems for steelmaking, casting, and rolling mill operations.
- Design, develop, and implement control systems (hardware and software).
- Troubleshoot and improve PLC and HMI systems (Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Automation).
- Analyze production processes from scrap melting through finished product.
- Develop performance metrics and connect plant control systems with business systems.
- Provide ongoing maintenance support and see automation projects through completion.
- Assist with project management and provide on-call support as needed.
