Job summary

CF&I Steel, L.P. in Pueblo, Colorado is seeking an Industrial Senior Automation & Electrical Engineer to improve availability and reliability of electrical and automation systems for steel production and shipment.

The role leads design, troubleshooting, and optimization of PLC/HMI systems (Rockwell), drives, and control strategies, partnering with maintenance and production to deliver safe, efficient operations within a highly automated environment.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic or Mechanical Engineering or Automated Manufacturing Engineering.
Minimum 7 years experience in electrical and automation engineering in heavy industrial processes, preferably in a steel making facility.
Experience with and working knowledge of Medium Voltage Drives.

Responsibilities

Lead automation and electrical systems for Steelmaking, Rolling Mill, and Maintenance in a highly automated steel plant.
Design, configuration, optimization, and troubleshooting of PLC, HMI and automation systems (Rockwell-focused).
Oversee commissioning, startup, maintenance and optimization of AC/DC drives and motor control equipment.
Drive continuous improvement to safety, quality, throughput, and energy efficiency.
Lead projects, mentor staff, and support cross-functional teams.
