Job summary

Gifthealth in Mesa, AZ is seeking an Automation Engineer to design, optimize, and scale automated systems for pharmacy fulfillment. You will partner with engineering, pharmacy operations, and automation teams to improve throughput while ensuring accuracy, quality, and regulatory compliance.

This role focuses on integrating robotics and production workflows, developing SOPs, conducting capacity planning, and leading continuous improvement using Lean Six Sigma.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in manufacturing, industrial, mechanical engineering or related field is required.
• Strong knowledge of process engineering, automation, lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Experience with automated production systems, robotics or material handling systems.
• Experience in healthcare, pharmacy, medical device or regulated environments is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Designs and implements automated manufacturing and fulfillment processes to support production ramp-up and training.
• Analyzes workflows and optimizes processes to improve throughput, efficiency and accuracy.
• Develops SOPs, work instructions and documentation ensuring regulatory, quality and safety compliance.
• Conducts time studies, process mapping and capacity planning for scaling operations.
• Collaborates with robotics, software and hardware teams to integrate automation systems.
• Leads continuous improvement initiatives using Lean/Six Sigma methodologies.
• Monitors KPIs and implements improvements.
