Job summary

ImageTek Mfg., Inc., a contract manufacturer in North Springfield, VT, is seeking an Automation Engineer to design, implement, and optimize automation systems supporting laminating, die cutting and injection molding. You will work to reduce downtime, improve product quality, and drive equipment performance through industrial automation technologies.

The role requires a Bachelor's in a technical field and 3–7 years of automation experience in manufacturing.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field.
3–7 years of automation engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
Strong PLC programming knowledge.
Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and P&IDs.
Knowledge of safety systems and industrial networking.

Responsibilities

Design, program, troubleshoot and maintain PLC, HMI, motion control, and robotic systems in manufacturing operations.
Support automated equipment across laminating, die cutting, injection molding, assembly and material handling processes.
Diagnose and resolve electrical, controls, communication and automation related equipment failures.
Program and maintain PLC platforms.
Configure and maintain HMI and SCADA systems for operator interface and production monitoring.
Integrate vision systems, sensors, servo drives, VFDs, safety systems and industrial networking components.
Support robotic applications for part handling, packaging and automated assembly.
Develop preventative maintenance strategies for automation and control systems.
Create and maintain electrical drawings, PLC documentation, control narratives and operating procedures.
Analyze equipment performance using production data and implement corrective actions to improve OEE.
Support root cause analysis for recurring equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
Ensure automation comply with safety standards, electrical codes and company policies.
Collaborate with suppliers, OEMs, and integrators during equipment design, commissioning, and trouble shooting.
Train maintenance technicians and production personnel on automated equipment operation and troubleshooting.
