Job summary

Tarkett Automation Engineer in Dalton, GA is a hands-on role focused on designing, coding, testing, and maintaining automated systems. You will work with Allen Bradley and Siemens PLCs, motor drives, robotics, and vision systems while leveraging Ignition and AutoCAD for integration and documentation.

The position requires strong problem-solving, project coordination, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, safe automation solutions on site.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering with 5+ years in machine automation control or 8+ years in related field with technical education.
• Proven PLC programming experience on Allen Bradley and Siemens platforms, motor drive programming, and robotics.
• Experience with Ignition development and scripting is preferred.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or in a team.
• Experience with AutoCAD to develop electrical schematics and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize, design, build, and troubleshoot automation solutions on AB/Siemens PLC platforms.
• Develop project scope, timelines, and manage progress with stakeholders.
• Write specifications to support competitive bidding and safety compliance on site.
• Troubleshoot automation issues to minimize downtime and maintain efficiency.
• Collaborate with process engineering and cross-functional teams for system requirements.
• Perform testing, validation, and commissioning of new automated processes.
