Job summary

Valmet in Wisconsin is seeking an Automation Engineer to join our Engineering Services team and support the performance of large-scale papermaking equipment at customer sites across North America. You will develop machine code in PLC or DCS and HMIs, test software changes, and participate in or lead site startup activities, including commissioning and training operators.

The role requires a two- to four-year degree in Engineering or related field and 3–5 years of relevant experience; Rockwell

Qualifications

Two or four-year degree in Engineering, Papermaking Technology, programming, or related field.
3–5 years’ experience in a technical role within the papermaking industry or related field.
Understanding of PLC programming with knowledge of Rockwell software.

Responsibilities

Develop machine code in PLC or DCS systems and HMI software to meet specifications.
Test software modifications prior to delivery (shop test).
Participate in or lead startup activities at customer sites (checking electrical, PLC, and HMI portions).
Commissioning of equipment to ensure specs are met.
Provide technical training to customers’ operators or maintenance personnel.
