Job summary

Johnson & Johnson is seeking an Automation Engineer for Drug Product optical inspection and device assembly in Wilson, NC. You will own automation/controls, collaborate with Manufacturing, Process Engineering, Quality, CSV, MES, and IT teams, and drive lifecycle management of automation solutions.

The role requires 6+ years in pharma automation, strong PLC/SCADA experience, and familiarity with cGMP and regulatory standards. On-site position with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Science, or related technical field is required.
• 6+ years of progressive industrial automation/controls engineering in pharma/biopharma manufacturing with direct automation responsibility.
• Hands-on experience with ISA-95 Level 1/2 systems including PLC, SCADA/HMI, and industrial networks.

Responsibilities

• Own the automation/controls scope for DP optical inspection and device assembly areas.
• Lead end-to-end automation delivery from concept to startup and lifecycle support.
• Validate and troubleshoot automation solutions with cross-functional teams.
