Job summary
Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine is seeking an Automation Engineer for Drug Product optical/visual inspection and device assembly. You will own automation/controls, oversee FAT/SAT, commissioning, and start-up, and collaborate with Manufacturing, Process Engineering, Quality, CSV, OT Infrastructure, and MES teams.
The role requires 6+ years in pharma automation, experience with PLC/SCADA/HMI, and knowledge of cGMP, GAMP 5, and data integrity.
Qualifications
- 6+ years of industrial automation in pharma/manufacturing.
- Hands-on responsibility for automation/controls in cGMP environments.
- Experience with ISA-95 Level 1/2 and SCADA/HMI systems.
- Familiarity with validation, CSV, and regulatory principles.
Responsibilities
- Own automation/controls scope for Drug Product inspection and device assembly.
- Lead FAT/SAT, commissioning, qualification, and start-up activities.
- Interface automation with MES, historian, data platforms, and site systems.
- Review design docs, narratives, alarms, and system architectures.
- Coordinate with OEMs, systems integrators, and cross-functional partners.
- Maintain documentation, change control, and lifecycle management.
