Job summary

BD in USA (Mebane, NC) seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to support automated filling lines, troubleshoot automation systems, and drive process improvements. You will work with maintenance and production to reduce downtime and improve OEE.

Requirements include a BS in mechanical engineering, 5+ years in manufacturing engineering, and proficiency with Allen Bradley PLCs (RS Logix/Studio 5000) and SolidWorks. Familiarity with FDA GMP ISO 13485 and data analysis tools is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of manufacturing engineering experience.
• Programming Allen Bradley PLC systems using RS Logix/Studio 5000.
• Working knowledge of SolidWorks.
• Experience with automated high-speed filling, capping, or packaging lines.
• Familiarity with FDA, GMP, and ISO 13485 requirements.
• Data analysis and graphical presentation using Excel or Minitab.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day engineering support to maintenance/production for automated filling lines and troubleshoot process issues.
• Troubleshoot automation and vision system hardware/software to rapidly restore equipment functionality and minimize downtime.
• Lead equipment setup, installation, qualification, and validation for new automation platforms and improvements.
• Lead investigations, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and resolutions for automation-related deviations.
• Monitor performance metrics (OEE, yield, downtime, scrap) and drive improvements with data-driven decisions.
• Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to develop solutions for production equipment.
