Job summary
MKS Inc. in Methuen, MA is seeking an Automation Engineer to support development of automation solutions across global production sites.
You will collaborate with manufacturing and automation professionals to enhance efficiency, quality and capacity of high-tolerance instrumentation. In this role you will design, specify and integrate automated systems, develop CAD concepts in SolidWorks, and lead startup, commissioning and troubleshooting of automation projects within a global Operations
Qualifications
- BS degree in an engineering discipline (Mechanical, Mechatronics, Industrial)
- 2+ years hands-on experience designing automated manufacturing systems
- Experience with sensors and actuators, VFDs, robots, servo motors
- Ability to read electrical schematics and design control panels
Responsibilities
- Design and integrate automated mechanical systems including motion systems and fixtures
- Develop machine concepts and CAD designs using SolidWorks
- Select and integrate motors, actuators, gearboxes and sensors into equipment
- Support machine design reviews, prototyping, startup, commissioning and troubleshooting
- Lead integration, startup, verification, commissioning of automation solutions
- Design experiments and proof-of-concept studies to evaluate new automation technologies
- Collaborate with other divisions to align on best practices and standards
