This position reports to the
Business Manager-Commercial & Operation.

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will act as the technical lead for all engineering activities. You will ensure efficient and cost-effective execution of all engineering disciplines within projects. You will serve as a design authority for specific engineering disciplines and complete related assignments. The work model is hybrid and involves travel throughout the year, primarily contributing to the Process Automation Marine Ports business in Houston, TX, with potential flexibility within the Gulf Coast.

You will be mainly accountable for:

1. Coordination: Collaborate with other packages (Power, Drives), Automation sub-packages & third parties (IAS, SIS, Asset Management, HMS), and Technology R&D/P&S. Communicate technical matters to customers and end-customers.
2. Development: Develop solutions based on system requirements, customize Automation/SCADA for Energy Management, and develop code for HMI and process panels.
3. Documentation and Testing: Manage document handling processes, prepare requirements for FAT, develop system descriptions for propulsion control and PEMS, and create HW & SW testing procedures.
4. Customization and Programming: Customize Power and Energy Management System applications, Propulsion Control System applications, and develop PLC programming for 800XA, AC800M, and PLC500 with complex sequences of operation.
5. Network and Components: Develop automation system topology, select network components, finalize BOM, and configure network switches and devices, with experience in IEC61850 and TCP/IP protocols.

   Qualifications for the Role

   • Engineering Degree and 2+ years of experience.
   • Experience with ABB 800XA Control Systems is preferred.
   • Experience with automation cabinet drawings, BOM review, communication network topology, system interfaces, firmware updates, and commissioning checklists is helpful.
   • Previous experience with the U.S. Coast Guard or U.S. Navy is preferred.
   • Must be a U.S. citizen or possess a valid U.S. Green Card due to role activities.
