Job summary
Novelis Ashville is seeking an Automation Engineer to enhance automation systems across coating lines, slitters, and utility systems. You will design, implement, and maintain automation and control systems to improve reliability, safety, and efficiency in aluminum manufacturing.
Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s in electrical or mechatronics engineering, 3+ years in industrial automation, and strong PLC/HMI/SCADA skills, with knowledge of safety standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Electrical/Automation).
- Minimum 3 years in industrial automation, preferably metals manufacturing.
- Proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Allen-Bradley), HMI/SCADA.
- Familiarity with Ethernet/IP, Modbus, OPC, and safety systems.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement automation solutions for coating lines, slitters, and utilities.
- Integrate PLCs, HMIs, SCADA and MES with equipment and processes.
- Lead automation projects from concept to commissioning and budget tracking.
- Support data acquisition, dashboards, and predictive maintenance reporting.
- Ensure safety, environmental, quality standards compliance and documentation.
