Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Sr. Automation Engineer for the Blades and Vanes Foundry to design, develop, and maintain core control systems. You will integrate PLC/SCADA with MES, provide real‑time process optimization, and build scalable data solutions for production and quality.

You will layout NFPA79/NEC/UL508A panels, write structured PLC code, and apply predictive analytics to improve equipment uptime. Strong python/SQL skills and experience with Siemens/Allen-Bradley/Beckhoff PLCs are required;

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering, physics, or computer science discipline.
• 5+ years experience in automation/control systems design and commissioning.
• Proficiency with PLC networks and multiple PLC systems.
• Hands-on data analysis with Python and SQL for reliability.

Responsibilities

• Integrate electromechanical systems with investment casting equipment.
• Design and develop data systems to analyze KPI trends and predict faults.
• Develop Python/SQL interfaces to MES and production databases.
• Create and optimize HMIs/SCADA/MES interfaces and apply predictive analytics.
• Ensure NFPA79/NEC/UL508A-compliant electrical panels and schematics.
