Job summary

GrayMatter is hiring an Engineer II to join our Newark, DE team. You will design, develop, implement, and support control systems for industrial customers, collaborating with cross-functional teams from concept through commissioning.

The role requires 4+ years in PLC programming and control-system delivery, strong problem-solving, and travel up to 40%. You will contribute to FAT, SAT, startups, and customer demonstrations while upholding GrayMatter’s core values.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 4+ years programming industrial PLC platforms (Rockwell, Siemens, Modicon).
• 4+ years experience with control system implementation, design, installation, commissioning, troubleshooting.
• Basic understanding of electrical schematics and industrial installations.
• Working knowledge of P&IDs, instrumentation, and industrial control equipment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel approximately 20–40% to customer locations.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers, programmers, and project teams to identify and resolve technical challenges.
• Design, develop, implement, and commission control system solutions meeting customer requirements.
• Assist with project planning, engineering design, and technical documentation throughout the lifecycle.
• Perform FAT, SAT, system startups, onsite pilots, and customer demonstrations.
• Configure, troubleshoot, and support PLC, HMI, SCADA and automation systems.
• Provide technical consultation and training to customers on new applications.
