Job summary

Nordson EFD, a global leader in fluid dispensing, seeks an Automation Engineer II to design and implement equipment that improves quality, capacity, and cost. You will collaborate with engineers and manufacturing teams, plan electrical systems, create project plans, develop wiring schematics and manuals, and support maintenance of automated systems.

Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in electrical/computer or automation engineering and 3–5 years of experience with automated assembly

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical/computer engineering, Automation Engineering or related field.
• 3–5 years experience with automated assembly equipment and systems.
• 2+ years hands-on experience with instrumentation and controls (PLCs, HMIs, networking).
• Keyence vision system programming experience preferred.
• Yushin robot programming experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers and manufacturing personnel to ensure design intent and cost effectiveness of production are achieved.
• Design and plan electrical systems, including power, communications, and data.
• Create project plans to organize and direct project activities.
• Establish equipment specifications and requirements.
• Develop wiring schematics, bills of material, operation manuals, and troubleshooting guides for newly established automated equipment/processes.
• Coordinate, monitor, and evaluate project deliverables.
• Collaborate with New Product Development engineering to ensure new product designs meet DFM/DFA guidelines.
• Manage the Validation / Verification Process for new equipment release.
• Create operation manuals, training documentation, spare part lists, and troubleshooting guides for newly established automated equipment/processes.
• Support maintenance with diagnostic, troubleshooting and repairs of automated manufacturing systems.
