Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
  • One to three years of validated experience in pharmaceutical automation and/or control system applications is preferred.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States now and in the future, without sponsorship.
  • Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check, including a drug screening.

Responsibilities
  • Provide automation support for existing and future pharmaceutical process control systems.
  • Develop, improve or provide guidance of process automation application for present and future automation projects.
  • Develop and implement technology to achieve user goals in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Work in a safe and responsible manner to create an injury‑free and incident‑free workplace.
  • Support automation projects by providing system design requirements to ensure system meets user requirements as well as company GMP and data integrity requirements, creation of user documentation and procedures as required to support new systems and system commissioning and startup support.
  • Support the creation of complete and detailed specifications and related user documentation that clearly define user needs and system functionality for new automation systems or modifications to existing systems.
  • Support the startup of new operations by ensuring code and configurations meet specifications and validation requirements.
  • Under mentorship and training of more experienced automation engineers, develop required knowledge and skills to support automation hardware, software, instrument, and process problems to maintain system readiness.
  • Collaborate with other site maintenance teams and communicate issue resolution summary to impacted area supervision.
  • After an estimated training period of 6 months, contribute to the 24‑hour automation on‑call support.
Eligibility & Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related subject area preferred.
  • Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant work experience may be considered.
  • One to three years of validated experience in pharmaceutical automation and/or control system applications is preferred.
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs. without assistance.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States now and in the future, without sponsorship.
  • Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check, which includes a drug screening.
Experience
  • PLC automation control system start‑ups, loop tuning, troubleshooting, and control system modifications.
  • Development of process, site utilities control systems or equipment control applications using PLC ladder and function block logic.
  • Allen‑Bradley PLC, Modicon PLC or GE iFIX experience is beneficial but not required.
  • Development, support and troubleshooting of Rockwell FactoryTalk SCADA systems including FactoryTalk Historian.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Allen‑Bradley PLC or Modicon PLC.
  • Rockwell FactoryTalk SCADA system development and support.
  • OPC communication software and configuration.
  • Highly effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • SQL Server database support and management.
  • Knowledge of configuring and fixing servo systems and VFD’s.
