Job summary

LVI Associates is seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to join its engineering team in New York State. The role focuses on delivering automated process control solutions for food, beverage, and dairy industries, with hands-on design, programming, and startup involvement.

You will develop control system architectures, panels, PLC/HMI software, and commissioning support across the U.S., travelling ~20% and collaborating with clients to ensure robust, scalable automation solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of automation engineering experience.
• Strong PLC and HMI programming skills; AutoCAD experience a must.
• Willingness to travel across the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Develop control system architecture diagrams.
• Design control panels and electrical schematics using AutoCAD.
• Specify control system equipment and MCC hardware.
• Prepare BOMs, wire lists, and installation scopes of work.
• Prepare PLC I/O assignment lists.
• Develop PLC applications using Allen-Bradley Logix 5, 500, and 5000.
• Develop HMI applications with Rockwell FactoryTalk View, AVEVA Wonderware, GE iFIX, or Ignition.
• Provide technical support to clients on new and existing control systems.
• Develop industrial network designs and specify associated equipment.
• Develop VB.NET apps and SQL-based tools.
• Provide on-site and remote client support.
• Commission control systems at customer locations nationwide.
• Provide control system training to operations staff.
• Travel approximately 20% depending on project requirements.
