Job summary

Thermon's Field Services team seeks an Automation Engineer to design and field-commission boiler automation systems. You will travel extensively to customer sites and take ownership of automation projects from concept through commissioning.

Ideal candidates have PLC programming experience (Siemens and Allen-Bradley), strong AutoCAD skills, and the ability to read multi-discipline drawings. Active collaboration with customers and field teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• 2 years' experience with PLC programming (Siemens and Allen-Bradley)
• 3-5 years electrical engineering experience
• Ability to read mechanical, electrical and instrumentation drawings
• Proficiency with AutoCAD for drawings

Responsibilities

• Design electrical control systems for boilers and related equipment
• Assist field techs with commissioning at customer sites
• Prepare electrical schematics using AutoCAD
• Develop PLC logic for boilers and burners
• Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA, UL, CSA codes
• Troubleshoot control systems and PLC logic on-site and remotely
• Write operating instructions and system descriptions
• Mentor field service personnel and junior designers
