Job summary

Rolls-Royce in Indianapolis is seeking an early career Automation Engineer to join our manufacturing operations. You will support development, implementation, and improvement of automation technologies, collaborating with experienced engineers to deliver safer, more productive processes.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and 1+ years' experience.
Willingness to work hands on with manufacturing equipment.
U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident required.

Responsibilities

Support development, implementation, validation, and continuous improvement of automated manufacturing equipment and processes.
Define automation, controls, and equipment requirements for new and upgraded manufacturing equipment.
Assist with automation projects, including controls, robotics, sensors, data collection, and manufacturing systems.
Work with engineers, equipment suppliers, and operations teams to install, commission, troubleshoot, and validate equipment.
Support troubleshooting to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
Develop and maintain engineering documentation including requirements, specs, control docs, and validation records.
Integrate equipment with plant networks and digital manufacturing systems.
Collaborate with teams to understand processes and deliver automation solutions.
Collect and analyze manufacturing data to improve performance and productivity.
Apply engineering principles and problem-solving to automation challenges.
Participate in planning, reviews, supplier meetings, factory acceptance testing, and production readiness.
Capture lessons learned and contribute to best practices.
