Job summary

Skyward seeks an Automation Engineer to advance federal IT modernization. You’ll design and maintain infrastructure as code, build RPA workflows, and tune AIOps across AWS, Azure, and on‑prem environments.

You will write Python, PowerShell, and Bash scripts, integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines, and collaborate with engineers to reduce manual toil while ensuring security compliance and reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or similar.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience.
• Solid hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform and Ansible).
• Automation chops: RPA, orchestration, and scripting (Python, PowerShell, Bash).
• Cloud fluency across AWS and/or Azure, hybrid on-prem environments.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation/ARM) for consistent, repeatable environments.
• Design and deploy Robotic Process Automation (RPA) workflows to automate repetitive tasks.
• Stand up and tune AIOps and observability platforms to correlate events and trigger auto-remediation.
• Automate across AWS, Azure, and on-prem to support a hybrid environment.
• Write clean, reusable scripts in Python, PowerShell, and Bash; integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines.
