Job summary

Baker Hughes is seeking an Automation Engineer to design and deploy automated solutions across production lines, integrating PLC/SCADA/HMI systems and MES/ERP tools. You will connect shop-floor equipment, build data pipelines to cloud platforms, and deliver Power BI dashboards for actionable insights.

The role emphasizes collaboration with Manufacturing teams, NPI support, and standardizing solutions across sites to improve safety, quality, throughput, and cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 5+ years in PLC/SCADA
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong interpersonal and leadership abilities
• Ability to work independently and solve problems

Responsibilities

• Design and implement automation solutions for production lines, assembly systems, and material handling.
• Develop and maintain PLC, SCADA, and HMI systems (Siemens, Rockwell).
• Support automation with MES and ERP systems (Oracle).
• Support new product introduction (NPI) by designing automated processes and fixtures.
• Standardize and scale automation solutions across multiple production sites.
• Identify processes to automate, create automation roadmaps and funding cases.
• Connect shop-floor equipment (IIoT) for real-time data.
• Develop data pipelines between machines, MES, and cloud platforms (Azure IoT).
• Create dashboards and monitoring solutions (Power BI, SCADA analytics).
