Job summary

Michelin is seeking an Automation Engineer for a 2-year fixed-term assignment. The candidate will lead automation projects, perform risk analyses, and validate equipment with Rockwell/Siemens expertise.

Required is a Bachelor's in Mechatronics or Electrical Engineering with 4+ years in Automation, handling PLCs, HMIs, robotics maintenance, and motion control, preferably as project lead. On-site role in Oregon.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent from a reputed institution.
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in Automation/Electrical engineering, preferably as a project leader or support.
  • Proficiency in PLC programming standards and software, with experience in Rockwell (Allen-Bradley) and Siemens being advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Lead risk analyses, FMEA, design reviews, and quality planning for automation projects.
  • Coordinate feasibility studies and evaluate solutions in terms of cost, deadlines, and risks.
  • Oversee validation, installation, start-up, and development of equipment in collaboration with trades.

Automation Engineer (2 Years FTC)Michelin, the Worldwide leader in Tires, is hiring!-KEY EXPECTED ACHIEVEMENTSThe quality system and the methods of its group are implemented (risk analyzes, FMEA, design reviews, quality planning, DTE, treatment of NC, ...).Feasibility studies are carried out with challenged and validated CDCs, the possible solutions are evaluated from the point of view of costs, deadlines, risks, functional choice criteria.Action plans necessary for risk management are carried out and monitored (calculations, simulation, tests, etc.).The feasibility solutions are designed in cooperation with the other business lines concerned.Validations (CI, RF, RC) are obtained after the phases of realization, installation, start-up and development of the equipment made in collaboration with related trades of the industry.Up-to-date records for: availability of OTG-OTS and releases; the processing of requests for evolutions, nonconformities and obsolescence; the respect of the regulation.Homologation, qualification and industrial robustness of the equipment are demonstrated.Intellectual Property (IP) is processed. The necessary patents are filed.CANDIDATE PROFILEBachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent from a reputed institution.Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in Automation/Electrical engineering, preferably as a project leader or support.Proficiency in PLC programming standards and software, with experience in Rockwell (Allen-Bradley) and Siemens being advantageous.Expertise in HMI configuration, programming, and communication, particularly with Rockwell.Experience with Variable Frequency drives and Motion Control technologies, including Rockwell, Siemens, and Control Techniques.Skilled in robotics maintenance and troubleshooting.Strong understanding of industry trends, regulations, and standards.Knowledge of hydraulic systems and their operation is a plus.Demonstrated leadership, project management, and teamwork skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint, Teams)Michelin is an equal employment opportunity employer of visible minorities, women, Indigenous persons and people with disabilities.
