Zest Technical Solutions is seeking a Controls Engineer to design, program, and commission PLC and DDC control systems for data center projects. You will apply hands-on Rockwell Automation experience to keep critical infrastructure reliable, efficient and delivered on schedule.

The role focuses on designing, programming, testing, and commissioning control logic and sequences, with on-site work and collaboration with project teams.

Qualifications

• Hands-on PLC programming with Rockwell Studio 5000 / Logix.
• Experience with DDC or building automation controls.
• Experience on data center, mission-critical or industrial projects.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, P&IDs and sequences of operation.
• Field commissioning and troubleshooting experience.
• Willingness to travel and work on site as required.

Responsabilités

• Design, program and test PLC control logic, primarily on Rockwell Allen-Bradley platforms.
• Develop and commission DDC control sequences for data center mechanical and electrical systems.
• Build and troubleshoot HMI and SCADA screens, alarms and trending.
• Integrate controls with building management and power monitoring systems over standard protocols.
• Review electrical and controls drawings, I/O lists and sequences of operation.
• Perform factory acceptance testing, site startup and functional performance testing.
• Diagnose and resolve field issues to protect uptime on critical systems.
• Apply industrial engineering methods to improve reliability and efficiency.
• Document programs, as-builts and commissioning records.
• Coordinate with project managers, electrical contractors, vendors and customers.

About the Role

We are hiring a Controls Engineer to design, program and commission PLC and DDC control systems for data center projects. You will bring hands-on Rockwell Automation experience and an industrial engineering mindset to keep critical infrastructure reliable, efficient and delivered on schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, program and test PLC control logic, primarily on Rockwell Allen-Bradley platforms.
• Develop and commission DDC control sequences for data center mechanical and electrical systems.
• Build and troubleshoot HMI and SCADA screens, alarms and trending.
• Integrate controls with building management and power monitoring systems over standard protocols.
• Review electrical and controls drawings, I/O lists and sequences of operation.
• Perform factory acceptance testing, site startup and functional performance testing.

Required Qualifications

• Experience with DDC or building automation controls.
• Experience on data center, mission-critical or industrial projects.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, P&IDs and sequences of operation.
• Field commissioning and troubleshooting experience.
• Bachelor's degree in industrial, electrical or controls engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Willingness to travel and work on site as projects require.

Preferred Background

• Experience with FactoryTalk, PanelView and Ethernet/IP networking.
• Familiarity with BACnet, Modbus and similar protocols.
• Prior work on cooling, power distribution or generator controls in data centers.
• Industrial engineering training in process improvement or reliability.
• PE license or relevant controls certifications.
