Job summary

Autoliv seeks an Automation Engineer to design, program, implement, and maintain high-performance automation systems on the production floor, leveraging robotics and control technologies to boost efficiency, quality, and reliability.

You will work with engineering and production teams, develop PLC programs (Rockwell Studio 5000), integrate vision systems, sensors, and networks, and support launches and critical production events.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Automation, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Experience in automotive or other regulated manufacturing environments with exposure to automated production systems.
• Strong understanding of industrial automation, controls, robotics, and manufacturing processes.
• Ability and willingness to work on the production floor, support off-shift manufacturing issues, and provide support during launches or critical production events.
• Flexibility to work occasional extended hours and travel as needed for training, equipment commissioning, or technical support activities.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement control systems for automated manufacturing equipment, including PLCs, HMIs, robotics, and motion control technologies.
• Program, integrate, and optimize industrial robots for assembly, material handling, inspection, and other automated production processes.
• Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot PLC programs using platforms such as Rockwell Automation Studio 5000 to ensure reliable machine performance.
• Support the integration of vision systems, sensors, barcode scanners, and industrial communication networks to enhance automation efficiency and quality control.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to improve equipment performance, ensure compliance with safety standards, and drive continuous process optimization.
