Job summary

Mauser Packaging Solutions is seeking a Senior Mechanical/Industrial Engineer in Georgia to develop test plans for automation equipment, program and troubleshoot systems, and design solutions that meet facility requirements while respecting budgets to maximize equipment quality and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering or 7+ years equivalent experience.
• Experience with hydraulics, robotics, electrical systems, automation.
• Experience with stamping, welding, and palletizing; strong MS Office, Visio, Inventor, AutoCAD, RSLogix 500/5000.
• Knowledge of Allen Bradley PLC, industrial sensors, and pneumatic systems.
• Excellent analytical thinking and innovative problem-solving skills.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
• Exceptional communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develops plans for testing and debugging automation equipment.
• Programs, troubleshoots, and evaluates design considerations on new and existing systems.
• Designs solutions that meet facility requirements while monitoring budgets.
• Prepares project scope, cost justification and AFE for senior management.
• Maintains control of project cost, quality, scope, and schedule.
• Prepares progress reports for management.
• Leads or participates in engineering design reviews.
• Conducts R&D on integration and testing of components and systems.
• Applies mechanical theory to layout, build, test, and repair equipment.
• Works with maintenance on preventive/predictive maintenance.
• Programs software to configure/modify automated systems and maintains backup library.
• Provides status reports of progress to management.
• Evaluates and coordinates with outside vendors for tooling/design.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Develops plans for testing and debugging automation equipment while applying knowledge of engineering technology as necessary.
• Programs, troubleshoots, and evaluates any design considerations on new and existing systems and equipment.
• Designs engineering solutions that meet the manufacturing facilities requirements while monitoring budget constraints to maximize production equipment quality and efficiency.
• Assists in the preparation of the scope of a project, cost justification and AFE (overall cost proposal) to senior management for approval as required.
• Maintains awareness of and controls project cost, quality, scope, and schedule to ensure on time delivery of projects within internal budgets.
• Prepares any necessary progress reports for management.
• Leads or participates in engineering design reviews as required and requested by Management.
• Conducts R&D activities concerned with integration and testing of electronic/mechanical components and systems and in the development of applications.
• Applies mechanical theory, mechanical testing procedures and related knowledge to layout, build, test, troubleshoot, repair, and modify developmental and production equipment.
• Works with maintenance department to ensure preventative and predictive maintenance compliance.
• Programs software to configure and/or make modifications to automated systems and process control systems, which will include maintaining a backup library of robotic, PLC and other instrumentation software.
• Provides various (daily, weekly, monthly) status reports of progress for various BWAY management members.
• Evaluates, selects, and coordinates with outside vendors for design, machining and fabrication of tooling and systems.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering or a minimum of 7 years equivalent experience
• Experience with hydraulics, robotics, electrical systems, automation
• Experience with stamping, welding, and palletizing a plus Strong MS Office, Visio, Inventor, Auto Cad, RSLogix 500 or 5000
• Knowledge of Allen Bradley PLC, industrial sensors, and pneumatic systems
• Excellent analytical thinking and innovative problem-solving skills
• Has the ability to multi-task, and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
• Exceptional communication skills
