Job summary

Technimark in El Paso, Texas, is seeking an Automation Specialist responsible for purchasing and designing automation systems. The role focuses on generating cost-saving opportunities and coordinating with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and implementation.

You will maintain and improve automation machines, develop specifications for new equipment, approve designs, and support start-ups and troubleshooting across divisions. This hands-on role requires hands-on tooling and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience in automation

Responsibilities

• Oversee automation design and purchasing.
• Identify and present cost-saving opportunities related to automation to management.
• Maintain and improve existing automation machines.
• Coordinate automation activities with outside suppliers.
• Generate specifications for new automation machines.
• Approve designs of new automation machines.
• Manage construction time schedules to meet production needs.
• Procure purchase orders for automation projects.
• Assist in production start-ups related to automation machines.
• Troubleshoot new and existing automation machines.
• Oversee continuous improvement of automation across divisions.
• Assist other divisions with automation projects as needed.
• Must use a handheld propane torch on the production floor.

Maintains and improves all existing automation machines in the division.

Coordinates automation activities with outside suppliers.

Generate specifications for new automation machines.

Approves designs of new automation machines.

Manage construction time schedules to meet the production schedule needs on new automation machines.

Responsible for procurement of purchase orders for automation projects at suppliers.

Assists in production start-ups as related to automation machines.

Assists with the troubleshooting of new and existing automation machines.

Oversee each division’s continual improvement of automation machines.

Assists other divisions with various automation projects as needed.

Required to use a handheld propane torch on the production floor.
