Job summary

Millennium Control Systems Llc is seeking an Automation Engineer to design, develop, test, and implement automated systems across manufacturing and processing environments. You will program PLCs (notably Allen-Bradley), develop drive and motion control, and build HMI/SCADA solutions while ensuring safety standards are met.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, document work, and travel to customer sites for commissioning and service.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in CS or STEM, or 5+ years in automation engineering.
  • Proven PLC logic and programming experience, especially Allen-Bradley.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics for control systems.
  • Experience with drive control systems and motor theory.
  • Strong documentation and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop PLC programs across multiple control platforms.
  • Design, implement, and commission drive control systems.
  • Develop motion-based machine control solutions per specs and safety requirements.
  • Create HMI and SCADA solutions to meet functionality goals.
  • Travel to customer sites for development, testing, and commissioning.
  • Provide end-user training and customer interface support.

Position Overview:The Automation Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and implementing automated systems and solutions to enhance manufacturing, production, or operational processes. The role requires expertise in automation technologies, process control, robotics, and software programming. The Automation Engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams to optimize productivity, reduce human error, improve efficiency, and ensure the seamless integration of automated systems into existing operations.Key Responsibilities:Develop PLC programmingDevelop code from specifications in multiple control platformsDesign, implement, and commission drive control systemsDevelop motion-based machine control solutions meeting customer specifications and all applicable safety standards and functional requirementsDevelop HMI and SCADA control solutions meeting customer specifications and functional requirementsLearn and implement new control platform solutions in a self-paced on the job environmentResponsible for accuracy and content of design, as assigned by team managerInterface with customers, project managers, and sales teamDevelopment, testing, and commissioning (will require travel to customer sites) of projectsRemote and onsite customer serviceReview drawings for accuracyTrain end user personnel on system, when requiredWhat we need you to have:Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related STEM degree or 5 years of equivalent experienceAbility to read and understand electrical schematics for control systemsMust have proven experience in PLC logic and programming for Allen Bradley with any of the following PLC’s a plus: Modicon, GE Fanuc, Siemens.
