Job summary

Randstad USA is seeking an Automation Engineer to design, develop, program, and maintain industrial control systems with strong PLC and HMI expertise. The role is based in Ansonia, CT, with domestic and international travel to support installations and customer sites.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree and at least 3 years of experience in electrical engineering and machine controls, plus hands-on experience with Allen Bradley and Siemens PLCs and Wonderware/PanelView HMIs.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, program, and maintain industrial control systems.
• Review data for machine design requirements and power needs; wire control panels.
• Coordinate with suppliers on design details, costs, and schedules.
• Program PLCs from Allen Bradley and Siemens; configure HMI/SCADA like Wonderware/PanelView.
• Present to customers as needed for selling activities.
• Visit customer sites for installation and startup support.
• Travel domestically and internationally to customer sites.
• Ensure installation and operation of panels per specs and safety standards.
• Test and troubleshoot machinery control systems.

Job Summary

A rapidly growing manufacturing company located in the greater New Haven, CT area is currently in search of a well-versed Automation Engineer. The Automation Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, programming, and maintaining all aspects of the industrial control systems. PLC & HMI Programming experience is a must. Salary: $95,000 - 115,000 per year

Responsibilities

• Responsible for designing, developing, programming, and maintaining all aspects of the industrial control systems
• Collects and reviews data for machine design requirements, electric motor and Variable Speed Drive power requirements, and wiring of electromagnetic and PLC based control panels, Motor Control Centers (MCC) etc.
• Confer with suppliers on design details, costs, and schedules of purchased products; evaluating supplier parts/systems.
• In designing machine controls, must program PLCs of known vendors such as Allen Bradley, Siemens and HMI/SCADA systems such as Wonderware, PanelView and other similar devices to properly operate, monitor, and make safe the operation of our machinery.
• From time to time make customer presentations in support of selling activities.
• From time to time work independently at the customer's facility to assist and advise during installation and start-up.
• The job requires domestic and international travel to customer sites worldwide. International experience in electrical/controls design requirements would be beneficial.
• Responsible for installation and operation of completed panels and system in compliance with specifications and safety standards.
• Test and troubleshoot machinery control systems.
