Job Summary

Develops, designs, builds and tests robotic platforms from prototype through product commercialization. Creates an integrated autonomous interface, mobility, communication, and human‑robot interaction. Works with cross‑functional teams to understand opportunities for robotic applications.

Essential Functions
  • Assists engineers with the development and implementation of automation systems or components.
  • Programs, installs, tests, and maintains robots or automated components.
  • Assists in the commissioning and deployment of new automation installations, conducts field trials to ensure appropriate operation, and prepares reports or records documenting actions or findings.
  • Investigate and troubleshoots defects or bugs, complete repairs and provides preventative maintenance.
Additional Responsibilities

Trouble shooting using Studio 5000. Exposure to Fanuc Robotics and Yaskawa Motoman robotics experience a plus. Exposure to Allen Bradley, Siemens and Unitronics PLC's a plus. Repairing, installing, and diagnosing sensors/alarms in a production setting. Serve as the first level technical response to errors, mechanical, and electrical issues on the process line.

Required Qualifications
  • Required education and experience: Vocational/Technical Training Degree and 2-5 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Preferred education and experience: Associate's Degree
  • Discipline/Major: Technical Training Preferred
  • Knowledge, skills & abilities: Oral and written communication skills. Ability to meet deadlines. Detail oriented. Problem‑solving skills. Mathematic skills. Computer skills. Technical skills. Leadership skills.
Physical Requirements
  • Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
  • Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds.
  • May need to stand for long periods of time.
  • Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.
  • May be requested to work a different shift.
Travel Requirements

No or very little travel likely.
